Guide Focus: Doctor - the Healer of DOMO

If you're into support jobs and enjoy healing classes in video games, then Doctor is the job for you! First off, to become a Doctor, you'll have to complete the Doctor Job Qualification. Once that is finished and you've unlocked the Doctor job, you can go to the Career's Advisor in the dojo and change your job to Doctor whenever you want!

Introduction - What is a Doctor?

The Doctor job is the healing class of DOMO. Doctors wear robes, so they are a little on the squishy side compared to other classes. Their weapon of choice is a giant syringe which they use to either suck the life out of enemies or cure allies.

Doctors are very similar to healing classes in other games. They have low damage by themselves (without subs from other classes) and are very slow levelers compared to other classes. Their job in a party is going to be keeping everyone alive and casting buffs as opposed to dealing damage.

Party Doctor Vs. Solo/PvP Doctor

Most Doctors you will see will consider themselves "Party" Doctors, which means they put their skill points into the skills they will need for healing and buffing a party - often in lieu of attack skills. Occasionally, however, you will see some Doctors either soloing or doing PvP. While soloing Doctor is not recommended because of their low damage (unless you are subbing Wizard or Shaman skills), some people still do it. When it comes to PvP though, Doctors actually do have a couple of great skills and can be a force to be reckoned with in duels or the arena.

Ultimately, which path you choose will be completely up to you. If you prefer to solo or like to PvP, you will want to grab different skills than if you would prefer to party with others and assume the healer role. Party Doctor can be a very rewarding and fun job, but party leveling isn't for everyone. Whichever you choose though, Doctor is a great class to level up and many of the skills are usable on other classes without a syringe equipped.

Party Doctor - the Skills You'll Need

First Aid - your staple heal and should be the first thing you level up when you can. It doesn't require frogs or a syringe to cast, so it is great to sub on other jobs.

Regeneration - heal over time buff. Level this up as much as possible.Level 11 Regen stacks with level 1-10 Regen. Cast on everyone.
Frog Forcefield - physical defense buff. Costs frogs to cast. Level 11 version is a party buff. Requires a syringe. Cast this on Tank, Puller, and AoEs.

Prolong Life - maximum hit points buff. Also costs frogs to cast. Level 11 version is a party buff. Does not require a syringe. Cast on Tank, Puller, AoEs, and Muse.

Greater Healing - your party heal and a great skill to use to top off everyone's HP. You don't need to level it all the way to 10, but put at least a few points into it. Requires a syringe.

Frogs' Legs Soup - another heal that casts almost instantly and heals for a lot more than First Aid. It has a long cooldown and costs frogs to cast.

Born Again - resurrects a fallen player. Only level 1 required unless you're getting Ultimate Healing. Requires a syringe.

Inner Magic - self only MP regen buff. Get this at level 33 - great to sub on other jobs and required for higher level Doccing.

Other/Optional Skills

Detox - heals poisons and makes the target immune to poisons for a short time. Level it twice to get a party buff version. Not required, only useful against a few mobs.

Fantastic Frogs' Legs Soup - a party heal version of Frogs' Legs Soup. Fast casting with a long cooldown and costs frogs to cast. Not required if you have Greater Healing.

Frog Force - physical attack buff. Costs frogs to cast and requires a syringe. Not recommended to get unless you have maxed both of the defensive frog buffs. Level 11 version is a party buff.

Mega Magic Boost - maximum MP buff. Costs frogs to cast and does not require a syringe. Level 11 version is a party buff. Useful, but not required.

Yin Frog - magical attack buff. Costs frogs to cast and requires a syringe. Only recommended if you have leveled the defensive frog buffs. Level 11 version is a party buff.

Yang Frog - magical defense buff. Costs frogs to cast and requires a syringe. Level this only after you have maxed Frog Forcefield and Prolong Life. Level 11 version is a party buff.

Ultimate Healing - heals literally everyone in the area (even non-team members) instantly for a large amount of HP. Very long cooldown. Requires a syringe. Not required, but fun.

Hand of Healing - passive skill that increases the amount of healing done by a certain percent (1/2 the effect on jobs that are not Doctor). Not required or recommended.
Equip Syringe - obtainable at level 30 for 15 skill points and lets you use a syringe on other jobs (and skills that require one). Not required, and only recommended if you have extra points or don't mind being behind with your buff's levels.

Non-Party Doctor Skills

Health Heist - Doctor's main attack skill that sucks health from the target and heals you for a portion of the damage dealt. Only used by solo or PvP Doctors.

Heavy Health Heist - Another attack skill that sucks health from the target and heals you and your party for a portion of the damage dealt. Only used by solo or PvP Doctors.

Purify - removes all buffs from the target. Only useful in PvP.

Soup of Self-Preservation - puts the target to sleep. Costs frogs to cast and requires a syringe. Casts instantly. Very useful in PvP.

Mega Medicine - makes the target invincible for a short time. Cost frogs to cast and requires a syringe.

Where to Allocate Your Stat Points

Pure Wis - high mana pool, longer cooldowns.
2 Wis 1 Agi - decent mana pool, slightly shorter cooldowns.
2 Agi 1 Wis - moderate mana pool, shorter cooldowns.
Pure Agi* - small mana pool, shortest cooldowns.

*You'll want to stop putting points into Agi at around 103 (the cooldown reduction cap for most classes). At that point you can start to put points into Wis instead.

The Do's and Dont's of Party Doccing

Do:

  • Keep a lot of frogs on you.
  • Buff everyone if you can (the correct order for which is Tank > Puller > AoEs > Muse > Yourself).
  • Try to conserve mana (staggering buffs helps).
  • Keep the Tank alive at all costs (once they die, you wont be far behind).
  • Use the syringe appropriate for your level that gives the highest MP (a list of all the different syringes can be found here).
  • Try to conserve skill points (you will need all of them and then some).
  • Level up Musician if you can and get Transfusion Tune to sub.

Don't:

  • Go afk without informing your team.
  • Leave without finding a replacement.
  • Level up Health Heist.
  • Waste points on Frog Force in lieu of leveling other buffs/heals.
  • Duel people while partying.
  • Spam Greater Healing and think that's all you have to do.
  • Panic.
